Blog Families

We most commonly think of a family with the following definition:

Family : a group of individuals living under one roof and usually under one head : household

It occurred to me this morning that when combining this definiteion of family,
with that of a blog the meaning is completely changed.

Blog : a web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections,
comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer; also : the contents of such a site

Perhaps family defined as "a group of things related by common characteristics" is more appropriate.
But isn't it true that sometimes the things we don't have in common are what pulls us together?

As bloggers we all have our lists of daily rundowns.
Our lists of blogs we check religously, daily, weekly, or completely randomly.
The blogs that I treasure the most have become like family to me.

I know some of the faces behind the blogs and others I have never met,
others I know are friends of a friend of a friend, and so on.

This being said, I feel like I know them.
I read their blogs daily and feel like I'm visiting with an old friend.

Theres one particular member of this "family" that I think everyone should meet.

Dream Designs

If you've ever met me, you know I love to be organized.

I also love most aspects of interrior decorating.

I hadnt used my desk that much since graduation, so when I redecorated my bedroom,

I did away with it. I never imagined I would miss it.

And here I am looking for a gorgeous desk and wondering

if I can make it fit in my room without doing away with any other furniture.

I spent a little time over the past week sorting through my closet.

I'm hoping to start the new year by getting rid of all things deemed unnecessary,

unused items, unworn clothes, unopened packages, etc.

Style Inspiration: Kate Hudson

As one of my New Years Resolutions for 2011
I am trying to start saving more.
No more Not as many "just because" purchases.

Handmade

After a few days off for the holiday, Ive taken time to reflect on the past year 

and on what 2011 will hopefully hold for me...

I am pretty excited for what this year might have in store.

Some exciting news to start the new year off with was my friend Molly finally
received her christmas package after lots of worrying it was lost for good.
Her package was filled with all sorts of hand made goodies and she's already gotten
many compliments on the headband/ear warmer I made for her.
Its so exciting when strangers appreciate your hard work.

I'm off to enjoy my day before getting back to work tomorrow,
