Friday Favorites

Yet again the week has flown by unbelievably fast.
For me, it was one of those weeks that felt painfully slow,
but now that its over, I'm not sure where the days went.

This weekend will involve work (yuck), fire pits, DIY projects,
shoppping with my madre, hanging out with my favorite little kids,
celebrating birthdays and hopefully a little bit of relaxing.

Here are a few of my most favorite things as of late.

  • 60 handwritten letters in envelopes that are to die for? Yes please!
  • Lace is definitely in this season and I've gotten hooked
  • With a change of seasons comes a change in many menus, I'd love to host a party to try out a few of these mouth watering finds: here, here, & here
  • Every holiday I usually end up with the task of making the centerpiece, this year I'll be traveling for the holidays but would love to give my own version of this as a gift
  • I dare you to tell me this doesnt look amazing
  • Knowing that sometime in the relatively near future I'll be in my own house or apartment I love finding little bits of inspiration for decorating. I love the clean feeling of these pictures.
  • The vintage filing cabinet in this post by Jenny over at Little Green Notebook would be amazing in any space

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!
This week is finalllly coming to a close. Did it feel torturously slow for anyone else?
As you know I'm headed away for the long weekend and thought I'd leave you with some of my favorite pictures of gorgeous vintage luggage. I've decided I definitely need to keep an eye out for some amazing pieces similar to these for around my one day dream house.

I wish I had a suitcase like this. She's got all the essentials.
Cable knits, flannel, a clutch, camera and dinosaurs all in a beautiful leather suitcase.

One day maybe I'll add a piece of LV luggage to my collection.
But don't worry, I dont travel with this many bags and I wont be doing ridiculous poses on my LV trunk.

Friday Favorites

Another week down and the weekend is finally here!
This weekend my sister is coming home from Florida so I'm not traveling at all.
Weird. I know.

  • Margarita Lime Cupcakes
  • This (little) girl is only 15. Enough said.
  • Imagine the levels of productivity if my desk looked like this
  • How could anyone resist this adorable healthy desserts
  • My friend Kelly's a Stella & Dot rep. Browse this adorable jewelry and dont buy something. I dare you.
  • This girl, my bff, has an uncanny eye for style
Lastly, my favorite thing this Friday, is every person in this picture.
(minus the random guy in the hat in the background)
Sometimes the stress of working two jobs,
and attempting to have a personal life can get pretty out of hand.
These girls (and Matt), remind me what I love about my long days and late nights due to double shifts.
We're a tight knit family and I love it.

Snapshots

This photo and quote has been awfully thought provoking this Wednesday morning.
With the repetitiveness of day to day life, what does the bigger picture look like?

You  may have seen this post, and checked out some of the links to find this.
And because I own one of these:

I've set out to complete this work of art.
I'm no where near finished. Or even part way complete.
I want the overall picture (no pun intended) of this piece to include all sorts of snapshots.
(not to mention the film for this bad boy isn't cheap)

Hopefully by the time I move I'll have enough to fill a large frame
and have a beautiful statement piece to fill my living room wall.

A New Love

As many of you AL regulars know,
I LOVE reading and perusing issues of LonnyMag.
Well now they've released a new labor of love
with their first issue of TradHome.
[Check it out here]

Being someone thats minorly obsessed with interior design
and is always finding new ides for my future home, I'm in love with the new mag.

How amazing is this playroom?
Green walls, an amazing to die for wall decor quote,

(number one residing in my friends tv room)
What is there not to love?

Lonny Love

I came across this photo in the new issue of Lonny
I love all things green and this little tray is no different

Just a few days ago some friends and I were chatting about how it would be
nearly impossible fun to decorate in all white, ironically enough,
I found these pictures in Lonny this morning and I love the simplicity
of a blank canvas white room

Dream Designs

If you've ever met me, you know I love to be organized.
I also love most aspects of interrior decorating.

I hadnt used my desk that much since graduation, so when I redecorated my bedroom,
I did away with it. I never imagined I would miss it.
And here I am looking for a gorgeous desk and wondering
if I can make it fit in my room without doing away with any other furniture.

Here are some of my favorite finds so far.

I spent a little time over the past week sorting through my closet.
I'm hoping to start the new year by getting rid of all things deemed unnecessary,
unused items, unworn clothes, unopened packages, etc.
I want to de-clutter my living spaces and my life.

If only I could get my closet to be this pretty.

A Place to Rest Your Head

"A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctors book"
-Irish Proverb

A friend recently asked for help her in her endless
(and so far unsuccessful) search for the perfect bedding.
Not too girly, not too manly, something just
right for her and her husband. Here are a few of my findings.

library love

My wish list of books to read has been growing so fast I cant even begin to keep up.
I've been filling up my trusty moleskine notebook with endless pages of titles and authors I
want to one day cross off my list. I've also been filling up my nook for my upcoming
travels with all sorts of exciting titles. I love knowing that my nook library can grow infinitely.

But I really wish I had a house of my own to make into a library. I already color code
my books like the first pictur below but how exciting would it be to have
a whole room just for your beautiful books.
(not to mention an adorable puppy to join you)

I would rather be...

In another life I'd be one of three things.
A Photographer
An Interrior Designer
A Baker.

If I one day beome any of these things, these are the people I'd want to be like.

A Photographer- Tony and Amy Hoffer are the two most amazing
photographers I've ever met. Not only do they have an incredible eye for
pictures, but they are adorable, so easy to work with and hilarious.

An Interrior Designer- Young House Love is a blog I've talked about before.
Theyre one of my favs.

A Baker- Bakerella has such great ideas. Her website is full of delicious treats,
perfect for all occasions!

I wish for...

Decorating with words is one of my favorite things to do.
Whether its with quotes or lyrics or books I just love them all.
I think theres such a good feeling when you find the perfect
quote that helps you express feelings that you may
not have been able to express yourself.

Another one of my favorite things to do is browse Anthropologie.
One can imagine my excitement when I came across these
delightful editions of some of the most classic pieces of literature.

I've been trying to get back into reading and although this has
been a slow process, I think decorating my room with these
adorable books would help to inspire. These are definitely
being added to my "if i had alot of money" wish list.
What's your favorite thing to decorate with?
