Four.

Four days until my favorite day ever.
Yesterday I mentioned that blue is in fact the real color of St. Patrick's Day.
Here are some of my recent blue finds.

My New Fav

For as much as I love (love love) traveling,
I hate hate hate packing.

I came across this site today and fell in love.
Three guesses as to what my two favorite things in this photo are.

So Long Summer

With only three official days of summer left, it really feels like Fall has made an early arrival on the East Coast. Fall is pushing itself on us with crisp mornings, chilly nights and lots of rain.
While I wish I were on the beach drinking icey cocktails instead of inside on this gray day,
I thought a little summer reminiscing might do some good.

If you havent realized, I deeply love traveling. Near or far, I'll go pretty much anywhere.
I started the summer off with a trip north to see some good friends (you cant see them, but paired with Diana's white tank and leather jacket are some amazing sequin shorts!) & one really cool pup...tell me he's not adorable. Next up was a week long beach vacation for my frien Kelly's wedding. That handsome kid with me in the black and white photo is (my one day) B.I.L or Bradley, either applies. Throw in some of my favorite little ones and a beach weekend with my college roommate, and I couldnt have asked for a better start to the summer!

How did you kick off your summer?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!
This week is finalllly coming to a close. Did it feel torturously slow for anyone else?
As you know I'm headed away for the long weekend and thought I'd leave you with some of my favorite pictures of gorgeous vintage luggage. I've decided I definitely need to keep an eye out for some amazing pieces similar to these for around my one day dream house.

I wish I had a suitcase like this. She's got all the essentials.
Cable knits, flannel, a clutch, camera and dinosaurs all in a beautiful leather suitcase.

One day maybe I'll add a piece of LV luggage to my collection.
But don't worry, I dont travel with this many bags and I wont be doing ridiculous poses on my LV trunk.

Style Inspiration

For those of you that don't know, I love lists. I write a list for just about everything.
Especially traveling.
I love love love traveling.
Luckily that love is stronger than my severe hatred for packing.
The only thing worse than packing is unpacking.

This week has been crawling because this weekend I'm on another solo roadtrip.
[I love road trips with friends, but I also love driving alone. Just me and some great music.]

I've been trying to decide what I'll need for this trip and turned to Pinterest and Polyvore for some inspiration. I just love these outfits of classic pieces accented with such great colors!

You can leave the flats. I'll take the rest.

I simply cannot resist jeans and a white tee.

What are your packing essentials? Any favorite traveling/packing hints or tips to share?

Can We Get a Redo?

Even though its been almost a week already, I'm still reeling from my weekend getaway to the Big Apple.
I would much rather be there right now.
If you had asked me last week if I would ever move to the city,
I would have said absolutely not.
But after a whirlwind three day reuinion in the city that never sleeps, I've reconsidered.

Our East Coast meets West Coast weekend was filled with late nights, extremely little sleep,
shopping, a concert, a Broadway show, a luxurious hotel
(I definitely recommend the Cooper Square Hotel for anyone visiting NYC),  amazing friends, great Irish pubs, and occasionally forgetting to eat because we were having so much fun.

We had the chance to jump on a train to New Jersey and meet up with old friends.
It'd been nearly 8 years since we were all together! It was incredibly reassuring to find that nothing had changed. We're all a little older, a few of us a little taller, but immediately fell back into our comfortable friendships that make these friends my family.

I wish we could redo the entire weekend over and over again!

Seeee Yaaaa

And I'm off again! I'm Chicago bound this weekend,
and can't wait to spend some time in the Windy City!
If you were around AL last summer, you already know that once the summer months hit,
I tend to hit the road as much as possible.
By plane, or train, or car; near or far, chances are I'm willing to go.

You would think that with all of my travelling I would be a pro at packing and unpacking.
False.
I procrastinate and dont pack until the last possible minute,
and I hate unpacking with a burning passion.

Next week we'll talk more about where I've been and where I'm headed.
Have a great weekend!

Travel Bug

I wish the world was flat like the old days
Then I could travel just by folding a map
No more airplanes, or speedtrains, or freeways
There'd be no distance that can hold us back

Last year I was bitten with the travel bug,
and thankfully it seems to have stayed with me into 2011.
Now my only problem is figuring out where to go first.
  • How fun would it be to check all of these places off this year?

2010 : III

2010 was a year full of traveling.
From my lake house, to Long Island, to DC, to the beach, to California,
to Chicago, to Florida, to NYC, to Puerto Rico, I loved every second of it.

Here are a few from my adventures in Chicago.
As you will see, Brandyn was the cutest model ever.

Away She Goes

And I'm off...again.
For the next week or so I will be basking in the sun ocean and pool side.
I've decided to use my cell phone strictly for it's camera purposes
(as if I need it in addition to the three other cameras that always join me on my adventures)
Until my return just in time for Christmas,
check back for some exciting guest blogs!

I would rather be...Travelin' Tuesday

Over the last year I have developed a deepy rooted need to travel.
Along with this has come a love for all things travel related,
maps, guide books, luggage, the works.
How amazing would it be to simply open a map, pick a place and just go?

Or to open a piece of mail to unfold a map with a lovely quote
plastered across it like this picture?

One day you will definitely find this in my home. In fact, its been on my
bucket list for quite some time. Now i just have to get my own house to go with it.
I think this could serve as an amazing piece of art one day.
A brightly colored map decorated by adorable push pins illustrating
all sorts of travel adventures.
