Friday Favs

I've been waiting all week to write a post.
But as it sometimes does, life got busy. Life has been getting in the way alot lately.
Mainly because this is my new motto. And I'm loving it.

Here are a few things that have caught my eye amidst the enjoyable blur of life.

  • Obsessed with the "____ = LOVE" print at the very end of this post. The beginning, middle and end of this are equally amazing but I cannot wait to print that out and frame it.
  • I must find the perfect Chambray shirt
  • Mint Rolex anyone? Who would resist that beauty?
  • Max's "Dear Baby" letters have been melting my heart since January. What a beautiful way to start some sibling love.
  • My dearest other half is back at her blog. This time with bits and pieces of hometown loving. Find one of my favorite new posts here.
  • Todays dose of cuteness

The lovely view from one of my favorite spots ever. Tiny tables and all.

Can We Get a Redo?

Even though its been almost a week already, I'm still reeling from my weekend getaway to the Big Apple.
I would much rather be there right now.
If you had asked me last week if I would ever move to the city,
I would have said absolutely not.
But after a whirlwind three day reuinion in the city that never sleeps, I've reconsidered.

Our East Coast meets West Coast weekend was filled with late nights, extremely little sleep,
shopping, a concert, a Broadway show, a luxurious hotel
(I definitely recommend the Cooper Square Hotel for anyone visiting NYC),  amazing friends, great Irish pubs, and occasionally forgetting to eat because we were having so much fun.

We had the chance to jump on a train to New Jersey and meet up with old friends.
It'd been nearly 8 years since we were all together! It was incredibly reassuring to find that nothing had changed. We're all a little older, a few of us a little taller, but immediately fell back into our comfortable friendships that make these friends my family.

I wish we could redo the entire weekend over and over again!

Summer Love

Today (and mostly every other day) I would rather be at the beach.
But sadly, because I work in the corporate world, most of my summer days are spent in the office.
I'm impatiently awaiting my next trip, I've been thinking of little things that I love right now.

Here are a few of my current summer loves:

--Driving with the music up and the windows down; day or night.
--The first hint of salt in the air as you head for the ocean
--The scent of a burning candle
--Watching the twinkle of fire flies at night
--Spontinaeity
--Iced coffee and homemade popsicles
--Tanlines
[I actually hate tanlines, but love that they depict hours of enjoying the summer sun]
--Baseball
--Trips and adventures, by plane or car
--Sand beneath your feet and a cool ocean breeze

What do you love most about summer?

Snapshots

This photo and quote has been awfully thought provoking this Wednesday morning.
With the repetitiveness of day to day life, what does the bigger picture look like?

You  may have seen this post, and checked out some of the links to find this.
And because I own one of these:

I've set out to complete this work of art.
I'm no where near finished. Or even part way complete.
I want the overall picture (no pun intended) of this piece to include all sorts of snapshots.
(not to mention the film for this bad boy isn't cheap)

Hopefully by the time I move I'll have enough to fill a large frame
and have a beautiful statement piece to fill my living room wall.

A New Love

As many of you AL regulars know,
I LOVE reading and perusing issues of LonnyMag.
Well now they've released a new labor of love
with their first issue of TradHome.
[Check it out here]

Being someone thats minorly obsessed with interior design
and is always finding new ides for my future home, I'm in love with the new mag.

How amazing is this playroom?
Green walls, an amazing to die for wall decor quote,
number two most comfortable and inviting couch.
(number one residing in my friends tv room)
What is there not to love?

Friday Favorites

Friday for most people means a couple of work-free days of relaxation,
this Friday for me means a continuation of the work week,
with a pretty full work schedule.

Here are a few things that I hope to get me through the weekend

I just cant stop

Pinning.
Its been a while now since I found Pinterest and my obsession hasn't slowed down in the slightest bit.

Yesterday Sherry over at Young House Love wrote a post confessing her
new found love/obsession with Pinterest.
I am so so so happy to have found Sherry's Pinterest board.
She has seriously amazing ideas, incredible style and is a great source for inspiration!

I've had a draft of my written confession for a similar love
sitting on my blog waiting to be written for a few weeks...
the problem is, every time I go to write it...
I get sucked in by endless amazing pins and forget all about my post.

Here is a tiny tiny glimpse into the lovely things I've discovered on Pinterest.

Are you on Pinterest or have you not yet discovered it?
If you're already on Follow me!
If you're not. You are seriously missing out.

Current Love: Flowers in Newsprint

Recently, for no particular reason (as I've never received such a bouquet)
I have thoroughly enjoying the idea of flowers wrapped in newsprint.
Theres something so romantic, spur of the moment, and  "city life" like of these beauties.
how lovely would it be to get a pretty bouquet like one of these?
