This Morning

We're only a few hours into the day and I'm already wishing the hours away,
thinking of all the places I'd rather be.

Where would you rather be right now?

Can We Get a Redo?

Even though its been almost a week already, I'm still reeling from my weekend getaway to the Big Apple.
I would much rather be there right now.
If you had asked me last week if I would ever move to the city,
I would have said absolutely not.
But after a whirlwind three day reuinion in the city that never sleeps, I've reconsidered.

Our East Coast meets West Coast weekend was filled with late nights, extremely little sleep,
shopping, a concert, a Broadway show, a luxurious hotel
(I definitely recommend the Cooper Square Hotel for anyone visiting NYC),  amazing friends, great Irish pubs, and occasionally forgetting to eat because we were having so much fun.

We had the chance to jump on a train to New Jersey and meet up with old friends.
It'd been nearly 8 years since we were all together! It was incredibly reassuring to find that nothing had changed. We're all a little older, a few of us a little taller, but immediately fell back into our comfortable friendships that make these friends my family.

I wish we could redo the entire weekend over and over again!

Summer Love

Today (and mostly every other day) I would rather be at the beach.
But sadly, because I work in the corporate world, most of my summer days are spent in the office.
I'm impatiently awaiting my next trip, I've been thinking of little things that I love right now.

Here are a few of my current summer loves:

--Driving with the music up and the windows down; day or night.
--The first hint of salt in the air as you head for the ocean
--The scent of a burning candle
--Watching the twinkle of fire flies at night
--Spontinaeity
--Iced coffee and homemade popsicles
--Tanlines
[I actually hate tanlines, but love that they depict hours of enjoying the summer sun]
--Baseball
--Trips and adventures, by plane or car
--Sand beneath your feet and a cool ocean breeze

What do you love most about summer?

A New Love

As many of you AL regulars know,
I LOVE reading and perusing issues of LonnyMag.
Well now they've released a new labor of love
with their first issue of TradHome.
[Check it out here]

Being someone thats minorly obsessed with interior design
and is always finding new ides for my future home, I'm in love with the new mag.

How amazing is this playroom?
Green walls, an amazing to die for wall decor quote,
number two most comfortable and inviting couch.
(number one residing in my friends tv room)
What is there not to love?

i would rather be...

as the holiday craziness is winding down and the new year approaches,
i can't help but find myself looking to relax
i can't wait to start planning my next adventure, but until i figure out just what that is going to be,
i would love to spend a lazy day in a gloriously cozy bed

this view looks amazing

Oct/Nov 2010

i think it would be extremely easy to get lost in a deep sleep, a good book,
your own thoughts, or your significat other with these curtains closed around you on a sunny day

I would rather be...Travelin' Tuesday

Over the last year I have developed a deepy rooted need to travel.
Along with this has come a love for all things travel related,
maps, guide books, luggage, the works.
How amazing would it be to simply open a map, pick a place and just go?

Or to open a piece of mail to unfold a map with a lovely quote
plastered across it like this picture?

One day you will definitely find this in my home. In fact, its been on my
bucket list for quite some time. Now i just have to get my own house to go with it.
I think this could serve as an amazing piece of art one day.
A brightly colored map decorated by adorable push pins illustrating
all sorts of travel adventures.

I would rather be...

In another life I'd be one of three things.
A Photographer
An Interrior Designer
A Baker.

If I one day beome any of these things, these are the people I'd want to be like.

A Photographer- Tony and Amy Hoffer are the two most amazing
photographers I've ever met. Not only do they have an incredible eye for
pictures, but they are adorable, so easy to work with and hilarious.

An Interrior Designer- Young House Love is a blog I've talked about before.
Theyre one of my favs.

A Baker- Bakerella has such great ideas. Her website is full of delicious treats,
perfect for all occasions!

i would rather be...

now that we're well into october
the nights come much quicker and mornings are much darker
needless to say my internal struggle
to get out of bed before 6am and get my butt to the gym
has become more frequent.

at almost any given moment throughout the day
i would rather be...

 {pictures from lonnymag}

here.
curled up under a blanket
trying to keep warm from the
chill of the fall air
with a loved one
[or a book, or a movie]
just simply relaxing
without a care in the world
Dont these look like lovely places to spend the day?
